Permalink Who are we to know what is certain, when we know we have our limits. We have limits because we are human, and as humans we are entitled to our own uncertainties.
Permalink Reasons

“Be happy for no reason, like a child. If you are happy for a reason, you’re in trouble, because that reason can be taken from you.”
—Deepak Chopra
Permalink Desiderata - Latin: “desired things”

Go placidly amid the noise and haste, and remember what peace there may be in silence. As far as possible without surrender be on good terms with all persons.Speak your truth quietly and clearly; and listen to others, even the dull and ignorant; they too have their story.Avoid loud and aggressive persons, they are vexations to the spirit. If you compare yourself with others, you may become vain and bitter;for always there will be greater and lesser persons than yourself.
Enjoy your achievements as well as your plans.Keep interested in your career, however humble; it is a real possession in the changing fortunes of time.Exercise caution in your business affairs; for the world is full of trickery. But let this not blind you to what virtue there is; many persons strive for high ideals;and everywhere life is full of heroism.
Be yourself.Especially, do not feign affection.Neither be critical about love; for in the face of all aridity and disenchantment it is as perennial as the grass.
Take kindly the counsel of the years, gracefully surrendering the things of youth.Nurture strength of spirit to shield you in sudden misfortune. But do not distress yourself with imaginings. Many fears are born of fatigue and loneliness. Beyond a wholesome discipline, be gentle with yourself.
You are a child of the universe, no less than the trees and the stars;you have a right to be here. And whether or not it is clear to you, no doubt the universe is unfolding as it should.
Therefore be at peace with God, whatever you conceive Him to be,and whatever your labors and aspirations, in the noisy confusion of life keep peace with your soul. With all its sham, drudgery and broken dreams, it is still a beautiful world. Be careful. Strive to be happy.

Permalink Nothing Can Separate Us From Love

Neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither our fears for today nor our worries about tomorrow—not even any power, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in creation can separate us from God’s love. - Romans 8:38-39

I remember walking along Quezon Avenue, sweating madly under my uncomfortable office clothes. I wasn’t in a hurry, but I felt a certain eagerness with my walk. Who wouldn’t be excited for first day at work anyway?
The first day, haphazardly became the first week, and a hefty list of first’s came running down- first lunch with the office mates, first lunch with the boss, first fieldwork, first project, first presentation, first breakdown…etc. Then after awhile, all the first’s lost its primacy, as it became apparent how monotonous and static things were at the office. The first’s I was initially excited about were slowly morphing to an unfortunate forever…
That’s when I knew I had to leave that place. Even though it was my dream job, it was not enough for me to be confined in four walls, and to be seated in front of the computer tallying my ass off with numbers which don’t reflect reality.
The real world, is not real after all, it is an illusion created by the rich and powerful.

“You know—one loves the sunset, when one is so sad…”“Were you so sad, then?” I asked, “on the day of the forty-four sunsets?”But the little prince made no reply.

Permalink Lime. I’ve been told that lime juice helps with forgetfulness, and can give clarity in thought. It makes me wonder how much lime does it take for me to remember how to dream big.
Permalink A certain uneventfulness can be the step-mother of a worthwhile adventure.
